Product Design Inspiration

Inspired by

Developed through MU16 x The Met, this goblet draws from the Impressionist understanding of light as something living, shifting, and atmospheric. Rather than translating a painting literally, the design turns painterly color into suspended points of glass, where transparency, tone, and reflection remain in quiet motion.

From different angles, the piece reveals layered hues and soft optical depth, echoing the sensory rhythm of Impressionist painting while remaining restrained enough for everyday use.

Material & Craft

Each goblet is hand-blown in lead-free crystal glass and finished with a specialized color granule fusion process. Colored glass particles are combined with clear crystal and shaped under heat, allowing tones to diffuse, overlap, and settle into subtle variations that cannot be identically repeated.

This interaction between color and molten glass gives every piece a slightly different visual composition, reinforcing the collectible character of the collaboration.

For Quiet Rituals

Designed for water, sparkling drinks, spritzes, and light cocktails, the goblet brings an art-led presence to ordinary moments. As liquid meets light, the glass shifts gently in tone and reflection, turning each use into a quieter visual experience.

Balancing utility with collectibility, it is made to live comfortably in both everyday settings and more considered tablescapes.
